WELCOMING ALL HOME TO CHRIST
The Orthodox Church is Evangelical, but not Protestant. It is Orthodox, but not Jewish. It is Catholic, but not Roman. It is non-denominational, it’s pre-denominational. It has been believed, taught, preserved, defended and died for. It is the Faith that has proclaimed the truth since 34 AD. As such, she is home for all those whom God is calling into the fold of his Holy Church – that Church which has been faithful since Pentecost in proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ.
ABOUT MY MINISTRY
Compassionate Hands Homeless Ministry is based on Orthodox Christian principles and dedicated to the belief that all individuals in society should be treated with respect and dignity, irrespective of their condition. This ministry exists to meet the physical and spiritual needs of our homeless population. I believe that each of us has the ability to give a helping hand to those individuals who by whatever circumstance have become, or are on the verge of, becoming homeless. It is my greatest privilege to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our city!
MY MISSION
Through, Compassionate Hands Homeless Ministry, I am committed to extending my hand and opening my heart to every individual I serve. Following the example of Jesus, I live in solidarity with those who suffer homelessness, injustice, violence, poverty, and hunger. My mission is to aid the homeless in climbing out of homelessness and reaching self sufficiency, and to help restore the lives of individuals living in homelessness with the faith, hope, and love, given to me by my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am driven to encourage people to make it through each day, with prayer and encouragement through the Gospel.
A PLACE TO MEET CHRIST
Through my diverse ministry I am committed to helping create a more just and compassionate world. Christ tells me “Whatsoever you do to the least of my people, so you do unto me.” I hear the call to be open to one another, to give what I have and to welcome all guests as I would welcome Christ. Compassionate Hands Homeless Ministry offers healing and nourishment, where folks respond to each other’s human needs. It is the generosity of caring people that makes my work possible.
